A quarter turn pneumatic actuator is a device that converts pneumatic energy into mechanical motion for the purpose of moving or controlling a valve, dampers, and other related equipment.

A quarter turn pneumatic actuator is called so because it can rotate a quarter of a turn, equivalent to 90 degrees.

A quarter turn pneumatic actuator works by converting compressed air into mechanical energy to open or close the valve or damper. When the actuator receives an air signal to activate, the air pressure pushes the piston inside the actuator to move the output shaft or stem to either open or close the valve or damper. Once the valve or damper reaches its desired position, the pressure released, and the actuator remains in that position.
